Lace Bite

“Lace Bite” is the inflammation of your anterior ankle tendons, most commonly the tibialis anterior tendon. It’s the result of the repetitive pressure and friction against the ankle tendons where the ridged boot and laces, shoes or dive gear apply pressure to the softer tendons and skin. It is often felt as a sharp shooting pain running down the anterior ankle. More specifically it is pain within the tibialis anterior tendon and extensor muscle tendons of the foot and ankle.
